about

“I sing to make sense of the world—to honor its sorrows, celebrate its joys, and embrace its mysteries.”

Jay Kory Johnson is a vocalist, musician, and storyteller whose artistry is shaped by a lifelong journey through music, faith, and the deeply human experiences of loss and healing. With a voice that resonates with warmth and depth, Jay blends classical training with an intimate, reflective style that invites listeners into a sacred space where melody and meaning intertwine.

His debut album, Come Healing, is a testament to the power of music to hold what words cannot. Featuring songs that have shaped his journey over the past three decades, the album explores the intersection of grief and grace, offering a deeply personal yet universally resonant collection of music. Rooted in reverence for storytelling through song, Jay’s performances are not just about music—they are about connection, presence, and the quiet beauty found in vulnerability.

In addition to his work as a recording artist, Jay is an educator and high school principal, dedicated to fostering creativity, leadership, and inclusivity in the next generation. A lifelong musician and choral director, he creates spaces where music uplifts and transforms. Whether leading a congregation in song, performing in an intimate concert setting, or shaping harmonies in a choral ensemble, his music reflects his deepest belief—that sound has the power to heal, unite, and inspire.

Jay lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Kristen, and continues to share his love of music through performance, collaboration, and mentorship.
